2016 Films I Saw

My release of 2016-movies seen inwards 2016 hits the same equally final yr -- 20. (Since I technically saw the final ii on the listing inwards 2017.) I only went to the theatre 10 times this yr though, compared to a whopping 17 times from 2015. 10 Cloverfield Lane* - My outset of the year, too my favorite of the year! This is non the form of film that needs dozens of viewings, but it was immaculate too powerful too stunning, too I dear it. v stars!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice* - I had no plans to consider it inwards theaters but went alongside a grouping of friends. I'm glad I saw it on the big screen, because its visual feast distracted nicely from its narrative stupidity. iii stars.
Captain America: Civil War*- My love/hate human relationship alongside this celluloid is withal going strong. On i hand, Bucky too Steve too Spider-Man too those activeness sequences! On the other, irritating political plot lines too "because you lot gotta" reasoning. 4 Stars.
Deadpool** - Stripped comport to its basic plot yesteryear my liberal application of Vidangel, this i wasn't able to stupor me into believing it was genuinely original. H5N1 perverted shadow of the wacky comic character. 1.5 Stars.
The Boy** - As far equally inexpensive horror films go, non consummate waste product of time. Rupert Evans's confront too the ridiculous twist ending made things memorable. 2 stars.
Midnight Special - H5N1 exceptional celluloid indeed. H5N1 sci-fi genre celluloid that I want to a greater extent than sci-fi genre films would aspire to live on like. Beautiful, heartfelt, imaginative, too excellently acted. v stars.
Star Trek Beyond* - H5N1 cheaper but fun infinite caper for the crew of the Enterprise. Decent attending to character. I wouldn't hear them continuing this way, but the franchise won't live on the same without Chekov. 4 stars. Second viewing brought it downward a bit.
Hail, Caesar!** - H5N1 really unusual movie, entertaining inwards unique too unexpected ways. Not the best from the Coens, non a waste product of fourth dimension either. 3.5 stars, settled to a iii yesteryear now.
Warcraft** - Even worse than I idea possible. I was bored too likewise confused to bother trying to review it. My brothers understood it good plenty though. They didn't similar it either. 1.5 stars.
The Magnificent Seven* - Modern blockbuster meets classic cowboy flick. There's genuinely cypher exceptional nigh this one, but it was a fun ride. 3.5 stars.
X-Men: Apocalypse** - Not at all apocalyptic. But the younger versions of characters were good cast. But Oscar Isaac was completely wasted. But it's decent if you're a fan. iii stars.
ARQ - H5N1 Netflix master that takes the Groundhog Day gimmick too runs some alongside it inwards an enclosed sci-fi setting. Small, but worthy. iii stars.
The Curse of Sleeping Beauty - H5N1 low-budget creeper that utilizes smart technique to live on an effective supernatural thriller... until the ending messed everything up. 2.5 stars.
Retreat - Fran Kanz joins a cult on Netflix. Weird, creepy, too non just rewarding inwards the end. 2 stars.
Doctor Strange* - An extremely satisfying measurement exterior the box for Marvel. Entertaining, smart, compelling, too appropriately psychedelic. v stars! ...but I withal haven't seen it twice.
Love & Friendship - Jane Austen's unfinished floor larn the lazy treatment. The words are sharp; everything else is piece of cake too dry out too uninspired. 2.5 stars.
Independence Day: Resurgence** - Pathetic too utterly useless. I'm only glad I didn't pay ticket prices for it. 2 stars. (Because I did relish making fun of it.)
Fantastic Beasts too Where to Find Them* - H5N1 surprisingly enjoyable spinoff adventure. I already similar this serial to a greater extent than than Harry Potter, although it's non exclusively without flaws. 3.5 stars.
Jason Bourne** - It's non terrible, but it is bad plenty that I regret seeing it for the previous ending it ruined. No existent argue for it to exist. 2.5 stars.
Rogue One: H5N1 Star Wars Story* - The only film I saw twice inwards theaters. Beautiful story, lovable characters, fun too moving. It's non quite perfect, but it lives upward to its potential amend than seems possible. 4.5 stars!
Zootopia - I didn't human face I'd dear it, but I was surprised at how piffling I enjoyed it. On the surface it looked cute too practiced plenty for a kid's movie, but I may or may non receive got just offended it yesteryear calling it "cute." 2.5 stars.
La La Land - I'm then glad I waited for this one. Superbly moving too wonderfully enjoyable, deeply thoughtful, gorgeous, creative, too everything it should be. v stars!
