The Curse Of Sleeping Beauty

Edit
So... I accidentally watched a horror movie. This Sleeping Beauty modernization is Fairy Tale meets Doctor Who meets Supernatural. With all the originality that should entail, addition maybe slightly likewise much of the campiness, too a large bonus of extra super creepy. I didn't realize how scary it would last at first, but I guess the fact that I didn't plough it off, but watched all the agency through all past times my lonesome, is a will to its decent sum of quality.
With a elegantly creepy look, too an involving plot, my involvement was kept upwards until the end, but therefore the ending was disappointing. It could bring used approximately other act; xx or xxx to a greater extent than minutes to goal everything up. It was a sixty minutes too a one-half solely if you lot tack the credits to the number... too therefore circular upwards a bit. And every bit freaky every bit it was (with me existence lone too non used to fantasy horror flicks every bit I am) it was also real enjoyable for the most part, too past times the goal I was already invested plenty that I wanted it to continue going. The ending was likewise opened upwards to last good; leaving off with a twist every bit most horror movies do, but this 1 wasn't unforeseen plenty to last satisfying on its own. Before the ending came along however, it was a surprisingly well-made movie. Beautifully filmed, real unique visually, too simply the correct sum of absolutely terrifying.
(It mightiness last worth noting that I mightiness last over-exaggerating the scariness of this film. After all it doesn't claim horror every bit a genre, too afterwards all, I'm non used to watching scary films, allow lone all past times myself. Just something to consider.)
The unknown actors were proficient too believable inward their roles. Bad acting was surprisingly absent, too solely snuck inward when the script got inexpensive too. The primary grapheme was compelling but the residuum lacked around whatsoever sum of existent depth. They were at that topographic point to last a sounding board though, too they served their purpose. The Pb was the prince character, named Thomas, too played past times Ethan Peck. I enjoyed his Pb too I actually enjoyed that the primary grapheme was the "prince." I've e'er thought since reading the Grimm tale that the prince would last the meliorate grapheme to focus on, seeing every bit how Briar Rose spends most her time, you lot know, sleeping.
The plot started out real interesting, modernizing the storey too edifice mystery, but threw a lot of that away when the 3rd deed started. Things got actually dicey for a spell too therefore wrapped upwards to absolutely no satisfaction. The modernizing of the Sleeping Beauty storey was peradventure the movie's biggest recommending factor. I would bring loved it if they had stuck to the traditional storey fifty-fifty to a greater extent than -- adapting it to a modern setting. The horror elements we're good done too sufficiently freaky but I mean value the motion-picture exhibit makers were carried away with them, too the master copy thought that was therefore interesting was lost inward the shuffle. I don't fifty-fifty heed that it was a horror film. I thought the note was real fitting; but 1 time the plot was influenced past times horror pitfalls, things derailed fast.
The dream sequences had a dainty trend to them; real fantasy, too creatively done. I actually similar the visual aspect of this motion-picture exhibit all around. It was real memorable too real indie but felt high quality. The motion-picture exhibit knew how to bargain with its small-scale budget past times limiting exceptional effects too working with practicals. And of course of teaching the practical effects helped with the horror's believabillity gene every bit well.
Going inward I knew that this motion-picture exhibit was non real highly rated with viewers too for the longest fourth dimension I could non figure out why -- but therefore the motion-picture exhibit ended. That actually is where it all cruel apart. Even the foreign materials that happens around the start of the 3rd deed could bring been easily forgiven if non for what they led to. I don't fifty-fifty bring therefore much of a work with what happened every bit I practise with what was left out. The motion-picture exhibit definitely feels incomplete, similar the firstly cinema inward a three-part series. But I seriously uncertainty this 1 volition larn a sequel. Which is likewise bad; I mightiness bring watched it. If solely to larn my happy ending.
